Newspaper publisher predicted tablets in 1994!
Do you think you can predict what technology will be like 17 years from now? Well, Knight-Ridder tried it back in 1994, and they did a pretty good job. They imagined a device very similar to a tablet that they even called a tablet. Here's what they predicted:
"Tablet's will be a whole new class of computer. They'll weigh under two pounds. They'll be totally portable. They'll have a clarity of screen display comparable to ink on paper. They'll be able to blend text, audio, and graphics together. And they'll be a part of our daily lives around the turn of the century. We may still use the computer to create information, but we'll use the tablet to interact with information, reading, watching, listening."
However, they also predicted that people will still use newspapers to get their information even when these amazing tablets are available. "Retaining that look and feel is important," they say of newspapers. Check out the video above...
